Mindful Circle is a workshop for caregivers focusing on selfcare and mindful activities.
Caring for others in need and parenting children with special health care needs are both rewarding experiences and simultaneously the most stressful undertakings any of us will experience. Sometimes it is all encompassing and overwhelming. And sometimes caregivers neglect their own needs when caring for their child, partner, elder, patient or friend.
Mindful Circle encourages selfcare while providing support and community for caregivers.
Research indicates that mindfulness-based practices effectively address stress, anxiety and depression, as well as improve well-being. In Mindful Circle workshops, participants learn evidence-based practices with an emphasis on practices which can be incorporated into their daily routine. Participants enjoy supportive small group interaction, homework, practice tips, and ongoing personal coaching.
“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t)."
